Legend

This piece is for my nephew Legend. His Mom is Frog Clan and my family is Bear Clan. So I wanted the frog to be the main focus as we are matrilineal people. However, Legend's father (my brother) lives with substance use concerns. So I specifically added the Bear on the tongue. The Bear is a symbol of protection. I want my Nephew to always remember that he must protect himself from substances - things that could harm him - and not allow those into his body. But also to protect those around him by what comes out of him (his words). Lastly, the equal Bear paws and Frog hands are to say that he can rely on both of his families for support in his life.
